The Himgiri Zee University (HZU), which was previously known as Himgiri Nabh Vishwavidyalaya, was set up in the year 2005 at Dehradun in India’s Uttarakhand state. HZU is an initiative by the TALEEM (Transnational Alternate Learning for Emancipation and Empowerment through Multimedia) Research Foundation that was registered in the year 1996 at Ahmedabad by India’s two premier business houses, the Essel Group of Industries and Zee Telefilms.
