Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University is a State University established on 4 October 2016 by the Government of Jharkhand. This newly established University is located at Ranchi, Jharkhand. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognized this University and this is Eastern India’s first educational institute to offer proficient, qualified professionals to work for the Police and other security forces. Moreover, this University opens various career doors for the youths in field of State Police, Central police, military and other private security forces. There are so many forthcoming disputes from various types of crimes like terrorism, economic offence, cyber crime, telecommunication offence and the offences requiring expertise in forensic science. So, to tackle these challenges and problems Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University has been established in this region to train and create manpower.

The University consists of around 180 students studying various undergraduate, post-graduate and diploma programmes in departments of Criminology, Industrial Security, Forensic Science, Computer Application & Cyber Security and Police Science. The University conducts common admission test for admission to the above courses and selection is based upon the aggregate score and counseling. The University campus also has a good library, computer centre and full banking facilities with a good placement records.
