by King George’s Medical University formerly known as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University is located in Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This esteemed University was first established as King George’s Medical College in 1911, though the foundation stone was laid by Emperor- King George V, then Prince of Wales. Later, it was upgraded into King George’s Medical University by an act passed by the government of Uttar Pradesh in 16th September 2002. Finally, the name of this University is restored back to King George’s Medical University due to the request of public, students and teachers.
King George’s Medical University is recognized by UGC, MCI and DCI. Moreover, this University has been ranked among top 5 medical colleges of India in 2016. It has been ranked #5 by Outlook India and Career 360 and also #9 by India Today. The vast medical courses taught in this University are MBBS, BDS/MDS, MD/MS, PG Diploma and Diploma in Dental Hygienist, Diploma in Dental Mechanics, Superspeciality courses(DM/MCH), M.Phil, Ph.D program, B.SC – Nursing and Paramedical courses.
