Maharashtra National Law University is located in Mumbai Maharashtra. It is the 18th National Law University in the country which was established with the objective of development and advancement of legal education in the country. The university imparts specialized and systematic instructions, training and research in the system of law.
The Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) has started its first batch in the year 2015 with B.A, L.L.B (Hons.) a five year integrated UG program with credit transfer system. It has 50% seats reserved for the Maharashtra Reservation Policy plus 10 foreign /NRI seats. The students were selected through a national level admission test, MNLUAT 2015. Only the brightest amongst the 3000 students can secure admission to 61 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate courses. In order to obtain a degree in B.A, L.L.B (Hons.), the aspirants is required a score of 200 credits by pursuing the mandatory subjects as prescribed by the Bar Council of India and other elective courses offered by the university.
MNLU university has its campus with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai which has extended its support to MNLU with faculty, library etc. Now the university has shifted its premises to CETTM-MTNL, Powai for its upcoming 2017-18 sessions. For admission to B.A, L.L.B (Hons.), at the university in the 2017-18 session students need to clear the Common Law Admission test (CLAT) on merit basis.
