Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU) was established in 1994 located at Nanded, Maharashtra. The university was established to serve the southern part of the state specifically Nanded, Latur, Parbhani and Hingoli districts of the state. Spreading across 595 acres the university has the entire modern infrastructure, research facilities, hostel, distance education and a well-equipped library for the better education of the students.

In a very short duration of time the university has been granted recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in March 1995 and under 12(B) in May 1998 before even completion of five years it has been re-accredited by NAAC in 2009 with B grade. At present, it offers 27 postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Education, Business Administration and Pharmacy. It also offers eight M. Phil courses as well. Commencement of admission in Undergraduate and post graduate programs starts in the month of June and the admission is merit based and the last date of the submission for admission form is up to 31st August.
